Workshop in honor of the 60th birthday of Patrick Ciarlet

Patrick Ciarlet Jr (as interpreted by C. Carvalho)Patrick Ciarlet Jr. is a professor in the Applied Mathematics Department at ENSTA, part of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. He is an internationally renowned expert in numerical analysis, particularly in finite element methods. His research has largely focused on problems in electromagnetics, with a special emphasis on wave propagation in metamaterials.

He has authored over 100 scientific papers and supervised 15 PhD theses. He played a key role in establishing the Master’s program in scientific computing and modeling, and in recognition of his teaching contributions, he was awarded the Ordre des Palmes Académiques (Chevalier).

This workshop is dedicated to Patrick’s 60th birthday and will take place on the 17th of June 2025 at Institut Henri Poincaré, Paris. Our goal is to honor and celebrate the scientific contributions of his colleagues throughout his career.
